The objectives of SEFIN as reflected in its statutes are:

  • To promote the development of R&D in nitrogen fixation, beneficial interactions between plants and microorganisms, and their biotechnological applications.
  • To sponsor the organisation of scientific meetings, encourage networking, and facilitate any other activities that promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and resources amongst all those interested in the subject.
  • To support professional visits and stays in Spain by foreign scientists who make a significant contribution to SEFIN’s objectives and the interests of its members.
  • To encourage the establishment of relationships and the organisation of joint activities with related scientific societies and organisations, both national and international.

The Spanish Society for Nitrogen Fixation, nationwide, is constituted within the framework that the Associations Law of December 24, 1964 and complementary provisions regulates and adjusting, likewise, to the provisions of the Complementary Regulations to said Law according to Decree 1440 / 65. The purpose of SEFIN is to promote the development of Nitrogen Fixation in Spain in all its branches and activities.
